eDesk began in April 2004 with the focus on supporting sole traders, freelancers, home office and smaller office based businesses. This was a sector largely ignored at the time but as we've seen over those past 15+ years, plays a major role in the Scottish economy.

Our goal at eDesk is to help you find Success with IT and provide you with IT Confidence, so you can focus on what's really important to you; be that growth, service delivery or just switching-off at night. But if you can't switch-off at night, we're usually here until 10pm1.

Creating value for customers has been key to our longevity and continued success. Some have written about their experince with eDesk here.

Working across Edinburgh and The Lothians, we offer a range of Onsite and Remote IT Support Services as well as Project Support, Website Services and Software Subscriptions to enable, support and protect your business.

From a quick question, to a fully managed service, eDesk can provide as much or as little support as you wish - No Jargon, No Pressure, No Complicated Answers, just straight forward tech support, help & advice - we're here for You.

Steve, Founder.

I'd worked with a number of sole traders and small businesses during my student days at Edinburgh's Telford College and undertook an 18 month industrial work placement as part of my computing degree at Napier University. So I recognised the systems and processes of my corporate IT placement, with adaptations, would be highly valuable for smaller business - my preferred working environment.

But I also recognised my skills and experience gap at that point in 1999 would have left my target customers short! So with a 5 year plan to hand I spent the following years working in various sectors, gathering the skills, knowledge and experience that I felt were required to fully support my target market.

At the end of that 5 years which was in 2004, I founded eDesk. But the learning didn't stop there, in fact that initial 5 year plan quickly developed in to a permanent cycle of Learning and Development that any IT Support Specialist today would recognise as just part of the job. Even today, everyday is a school day, you never get bored and there is always something to learn but with 25 years of that under my belt, there is usually something of value I can share.
